Sumiko Shimo

Sumiko is Japanese native, residing in Canada who holds B.A in Social Psychology (Japan) and MBA from University of Windsor (Canada). Her professional base is Ontario, Canada, from where she provides consulting, training and coaching services in both intercultural management and organizational culture change management.

Before joining itim International, she worked for multi-national corporations and several international joint-venture businesses in different industries including automotive, construction, and housing in both private and public sectors. Having also worked cross-functionally with those who have diverse cultural and professional background, she has become competent in interpreting collective mindsets of various groups.

Together with the above professional experiences and the Hofstede Models for Intercultural Management and Organizational Culture, she helps organizations leverage the power of cultural diversity for business advantage and optimize organizational culture to achieve their strategic goals.

Sumiko is also a Co-Active® Coach of the Coach Training Institute (CTI) and a certified NLP practitioner. She is fluent in Japanese and English, and speaks moderate French.
