Walter Jahn from Munich, Germany was educated at Munich University and has a full degree in Precision Mechanics as well as in Economics and Political Science with focus on Development Economics.
His interest in intercultural issues grew during more than 25 years of working in development cooperation and he became fascinated by Hofstede's approach on culture as early as 1985. He lived and worked for eight years in Malaysia, Mali and India. Short-term assignments have taken him to many other countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
How to achieve effective inter-cultural cooperation was his particular interest during his long-term stay in India where he was Country Director of a large German development agency (GIZ). Walter also works as a Management and Organisational Development consultant for international development cooperation.
Walter joined itim in 2003 to work in intercultural management.
