The accredited practitioner training programme has been developed in order to enable managers and consultants to guide members of their organisations in becoming more successful and effective when dealing with culture.

NEW: The Accredited Practitioner Course is now open to to corporate customers. Because many of our customers wished to be able to certify their own people for security or internal policy reasons. In order to address their needs, our proven and highly-effective cultural model is now accessible to in-house consultants.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are always open to people who believe in the necessity of creating cultural competence in the same way as we do. We are, however, highly selective in order to ensure that we  fulfil the needs of our clients by providing the best consultants for their organisation. The people who join us all have outstanding cultural knowledge, a wide variety of experience of both working and living internationally and a strong record of consulting experiences and skills. There are, however, a number of principal qualities that must be met.

We require our consultants to:

  • be fluent in several languages, both written and verbally

  • have lived and worked in at least two countries outside of their home country

  • be very comfortable working independently

  • have high standards of professionalism and intercultural empathy

  • possess strong didactical skills and be able to generate creative, innovative and practical ideas

  • have strong sales skills to do their own sales and assignment acquisitions

In addition to these basic requirements, we also value personal attributes such as integrity, openness, sensitivity and a strong sense of initiative. Overall, we are interested in competent and well-rounded professionals; an itim consultant is a unique blend of consultant, trainer, coach and sales professional.

GETTING CERTIFIED AND LICENSED

At itim International our specialty is the ability to combine culture and management know-how in order to analyse managerial issues from a cultural perspective. All of our intercultural management services are built around Hofstede’s model of cultural dimensions, with which we can understand other cultures. The objective of the certification programme, accordingly, is to enhance your proficiency in the field of intercultural management by incorporating Professor Hofstede's and itim's knowledge, concepts, methodology and materials.

We ask you to make an investment of 5500 Euros for your education in order to become an itim Intercultural Management Consultant and licensee. In return for this investment you will receive all of the following:

  • our three-phase certification process consisting of online modules, a 5-day train-the-trainers course and observation of another consultant’s assignment, and your first training observed by a senior itimer.
  • training in our methodology
  • access to unique materials consisting of exercises, case studies, role plays and workshops covering an enormous variety of cultures and management topics
  • free support and guidance to help you start your own practice and to assist you in formulating proposals and as well as assistance regarding content/methodology issues for the first year
  • Assistance from HQ in promoting courses
  • possibility to publish articles, papers and promote own books on the itim website (conditions apply)
  • free access to itim conferences and selected events  access to a database of over 5000 cultural anecdotes useful in your work as an intercultural management consultant
  • access to our intranet site with many resources such as articles, tips, links, and perspectives on culture- related issues
