Rheno Umwelttechnik AG, established 50 years ago, is the leading company in the swimmingpool- and drinkingwater disinfection market. Rheno also supplies disinfection systems for elimination of micropollution from waste waters and disinfection systems for various industrial waters. The highest possible quality of the customized solutions is achieved with an in house know-how, efficient internal processes in addition to qualitative products. As a SME company Rheno is flexible and can adapt to customer needs, still maintaining its professionalism.
In the continuous strive for quality and improvement of customer satisfaction, Rheno has used customer satisfaction surveys and conventional employee surveys since 2003. These surveys have helped aligning the operations, but still some questions have remained unanswered or the results have been ambiguos.
In 2012 we, for the first time, used the Hofstede organizational culture measurement model, by Itim International. We where able to verify strategically important areas and found new dimensions, which we had not discovered earlier. The crucial difference in this survey, compared to alternative ones is, that the results are combined with explanation for it being so and more importantly suggestions on how to change the situation. In other words validated alternative optional measurements (map), on how to achieve a desired change
In 2015, we measured our organizational culture a second time. This time we wanted to know, what had happened since 2012 and how the actions, which we had decided on in 2012 had influenced the culture. We were able to determine, that the actions taken had moved us in the right direction and we also found further areas for development.
At first we thought that the Hofstede Model is only applicable for big companies. Assuming that a HR-department, can work with the model analysing many things in detail. But the model can also be used by SME companies with limited resources, who by using this model can be guided and thereby find which measures to focus on and in which secuence these, should be addressed, in order to secure the best possible “umsetzung” of the strategy.
